WORLD TEACHERS’ DAY 2022: AL-HIKMAT TEACHERS RECOUNT ACADEMIC SUCCESSES, APRECIATE THE MANAGEMENT

The management of AL-HIKMAT SCHOOLS organized a Teachers’ Day for the staff of the school on Monday 3rd October, 2022 to commemorate the World Teachers’ Day 2022.

On the Teachers’ Day, the services of teachers and their contributions to education were acknowledged and their role and importance for the development of students and society were highly appreciated.

Teachers’ Day is an occasion that pays a tribute to the teachers and tends to resolve some of the issues regarding their profession and hence tries to attract the brightest young minds towards this profession.

The Theme of World Teachers’ Day 2022 is “The transformation of education begins with teachers”. The United Nations (UNESCO) presented this theme for teachers’ day in respect of their determined and diligent efforts in the crucial stages of the Covid-19 pandemic.

As the world is progressing rapidly, the mode of education has changed from conventional teaching to technical, skillful, professional and virtual education. The United Nations (UNESCO) recommended this theme to honor the efforts made those teachers during the pandemic COVID-19. The schools, colleges, and universities remained closed and all the people were depressed and scared. However, it could not destabilize the dedication and courage of our teachers. Our teachers knew that there would be no physical classes during Pandemics so they transformed their medium of education altogether. The students stayed home and the teachers too yet the education never took a pause.

Speaking on this occasion, hajia Fatimah Adebari, a primary four class teacher, appreciated the effort of the school management for recognizing the effort of the teachers in developing the students academically, morally and spiritually. In her words, teachers should be treated specially on this day, taken to a special place and given a work-free day to mark this special day. However, teachers and parents should work hand-in-hand to bring about a positive change in these pupils for brighter and rewarding future, she added.

A mathematics and further mathematics teacher in the college, mr. Odumosu Ibrahim appreciated the management for assisting the teacher ensuring all students are not encouraged for examination malpractices and which makes the students to be more focused in their studies. Mr. Sadiq, a primary six class teacher recounts how the school has transformed him spiritually which consequently assisted him in discharging his duty of imparting in the pupils.

A reputable teacher in the college, mrs Akintunde S.Y, expressed gratitude to the school management for recognizing the effort of the teachers. For a school to organize this kind of event amidst this difficult period, the brains behind the organization need to be appreciated, she added.
